Plain English summary: Use Tidy fairly, pay for what you use, and don't do anything illegal. We'll keep the app running and be upfront about any changes.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Tidy mobile application or website at tidyapp.me ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.
2. Description of Service
Tidy is an ADHD-friendly home cleaning and task management application. The Service allows users to create and manage cleaning tasks, organize rooms, track streaks, and (with a paid subscription) share household responsibilities with family members. Features may change over time as we improve the app.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Tidy.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits.
- You must notify us immediately at privacy@tidyapp.me if you suspect unauthorized account access.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Subscription Tiers
Free
2 rooms and basic task features, available at no cost for as long as you use the app.
Plus — $4.99/month
Unlimited rooms, all gamification features, no ads, and pattern learning. Billed monthly.
Family — $7.99/month
All Plus features plus up to 6 household members, leaderboards, and child task approval. Billed monthly.
Billing Terms
- Subscriptions are billed through Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) and are subject to their respective billing terms.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Prices are in USD and may vary by region based on platform pricing.
- We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancel anytime through your Google Play or Apple App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
- Refunds are handled per Google Play and Apple App Store policies. We do not process refunds directly.
- Downgrading from a paid plan to Free takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive source code from the app.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limitations.
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
6. Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create within Tidy — including room names, task names, and schedules ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.
We will never use Your Content for advertising, analytics sold to third parties, or any purpose other than operating the Service.
7. Intellectual Property
The Tidy app, website, logo, design, and all associated content are owned by Tidy and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features.
8. Family Plan and Household Members
- The Family plan allows up to 6 people to share a household in the app.
- The account owner is responsible for ensuring all household members comply with these Terms.
- Household members have access to shared room and task data within your household only.
- Removing a member from your household will revoke their access to shared data.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TIDY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the unused portion of your current billing period.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
